VII.  HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

  • EYE CONTACT: May cause irritation.
  • SKIN CONTACT: May cause dehydration and irritation.
  • INHALATION: Repeated exposure may cause delayed lung injury (silicosis, cancer). 
  • INGESTION: No known hazard.
  • CHRONIC HAZARDS:
  • a. Contains crystalline silica which is listed as a class 2A carcinogen by IARC, and silica, crystalline (respirable) is listed by NTP as a carcinogen.
  • b. Not listed by OSHA as a carcinogen.
  • SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE:
  • a. Sneezing and dryness of mucous membranes (inhalation).
  • b. Redness and tearing (eye exposure).
  • c. Dryness, itching, or burning (skin exposure).
  • MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE:
  • a. Asthma and lung diseases.
  •  FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
  • a. In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
  • b. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
  • c. If inhaled, remove to fresh air.
